0.6 mg is injected subcutaneously once daily for the first week. Increase the dose by 0.6 mg at weekly intervals until you reach 3 mg daily (to increase tolerance). This should take at least 5 weeks. Continue taking 3 mg once daily thereafter. If the dose increase to the next step is not tolerated for 2 consecutive weeks, consider stopping treatment. Stop treatment if you have not lost at least 5% of your initial body weight on a dose of 3 mg once daily after using Saxenda for 12 weeks. Daily doses greater than 3.0 mg are not recommended. Saxenda should be injected subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. The injection site may be changed without adjusting the dose.
