Before starting to use Hanna, it is important to consider some factors and consult a healthcare provider if appropriate:

You should not take Hannah if:

You have certain types of cancer that are affected by sex steroid hormones, such as breast, ovarian, or uterine cancer.

You have had blood clots in your legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism).

You have jaundice or severe liver disease with abnormal liver function tests.

You have unexplained vaginal bleeding between periods or bleeding after intercourse.

You are allergic to desogestrel or any of the other ingredients of Hanna.

You are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant.

Warnings and Precautions:

Discuss with your healthcare provider if you have a history of cancer, blood clots, liver problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, tuberculosis, or melasma.

Be aware that changes in your bleeding pattern, including missed periods, may occur while taking Hannah.

You should know that Hannah does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or HIV.

Tell your doctor if you experience depressive symptoms, as hormonal contraceptives, including Hannah, have been associated with mood changes.

Seek medical help if you experience severe leg pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, or signs of ectopic pregnancy (sudden, severe abdominal pain).

If you experience severe vomiting or diarrhea within 3-4 hours of taking Hanna, consider the pill "missed" and follow appropriate instructions.

Be aware of potential interactions with other medications, including those used to treat epilepsy, tuberculosis, HIV, fungal infections, depression, or certain bacterial infections. Consult your pharmacist or doctor.

Use additional contraception (such as condoms) if you use emergency contraception containing ulipristal acetate.
